Consett care home Residents wishes come trueBill Meegan, a Residents at Greenways Court care home in Consett, County Durham, has always loved aircrafts and wished to go to his local airfield.

It is always a pleasure for the staff at Greenways Court to grant each of their Residents wishes as it is great for their wellbeing. Bill who was in the RAF in his younger years has always loved flying and has a keen interest in aircrafts, so when he heard about the local airstrip which has air crafts out on display, he was keen to pay a visit.

Residents Vince Sullivan and Ted Baldwin, wanted to join Bill on his trip so they all got onto the minibus and made the trip out.

When they arrived, there was lots of planes and helicopters to take a look at.

Bill’s face lit up when the was looking around all of the aircrafts and when Bill asked the owner if he could have a closer look, they were more than happy to accommodate this.

The men had a great day out and they said it was one of the best days they have had in a while.

Bill who is a man of very little words took hold of the staff members arm who took them on the trip and said, “Thank you for today.”

All the Residents thanked the staff for making the trip out so special.

Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, commented, “We always want to make Residents happy and making their wishes come true is just amazing!”
