A group of Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Melbury Court care home in County Durham have been vaccinated against coronavirus as the vaccine rolls out across the UK.
Among the recipients were two Residents over 100-years-old.
An air of positivity filled Melbury Court as Dunelm Medical Group administered the vaccinations in a bid to protect Residents and Colleagues at the home.
One resident commented: “We were happy to get our first dose of the vaccine and we are very positive about what this holds.”
It was an emotional and rewarding experience for the Medical Staff as they work to combat the virus and help the vulnerable.
The Pfizer vaccine is currently being rolled out to Residents and Staff in care homes under guidance from the Department of Health.
Residents and Colleagues all expressed their thanks to Dunelm Medical Group for helping to protect them against coronavirus.
Melbury Court Home Manager, Hazel Southern, was very happy to take part. She said: “We were grateful to the team for coming into the home to administer the vaccinations to residents and staff.
“What an experience!”
