HC-One’s Roxburgh House Care Home, in Cradley Heath, is appealing for kind-hearted people to send birthday cards to a resident who is turning 100.
Roxburgh House resident Irene Weaver aged 99, was born on 28th May 1925, in Birmingham. Irene has led an exciting life, full of love and joy.
Irene was brought up in Birmingham with her 5 siblings – 4 sisters and 1 brother. In her younger years, Irene worked in a warehouse.
Irene enjoyed going to church and being around her friends and family. She also adored her cats and dogs. She married Thomas (Tom) and had 3 children. Irene’s family continued to grow, and she now has 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Irene moved into Roxburgh House in March 2025 supported by her loving family.
Irene will be celebrating her birthday with a party and celebration at Roxburgh House Care Home, surrounded by her family, friends, colleagues and residents at Roxburgh House.
The team are helping make Irene’s birthday wishes come true by appealing to the public to make her birthday extra special by sending a birthday card. They are asking for a heartfelt funny message; a funny joke; or just a reminder of how fabulous she is to be sent to her to make her day extra special.
Roxburgh House Care Home are asking people to spread the love by showering Irene with heartfelt birthday cards as it "would mean so much” to her. This would ensure she feels the love, laughter and joy she has given to others over the years.
