Residents at HC-One’s Newlands care home, in Stockport, have been very busy this week with crafts and art activities including making Easter cards and watercolour paintings.
On 23rd March, Colleagues took delivery of their new watercolour paints, and were very eager to try them out.
To start off on the watercolour journey, colleagues printed off pictures to paint to see if Residents liked using them.
The easy of fade and shading are so much easier with watercolours and the Residents loved using these paints and how easy it is to blend, fade and shade the pictures. One Resident said they felt like, “Real painters!”
Today Residents including Geoff, Marg, Mo, Vera, Pauline and John, designed their own Easter cards to give out on Sunday. Residents coloured them in with pen, felt tips and watercolour, and they look fantastic!
One Resident remarked, “I really enjoyed making our own cards to send out.”
Home Manager, Rebecca Murphy, commented, “We have some artists here at Newlands and there were some fantastic pieces of work. We are thinking of getting some canvases to paint on now as the activity went down so well.”
