Cramlington care home Colleagues contribute to community Christmas collectionColleagues at HC-One’s Hartford Court in Cramlington recently decided to give back to their local community this Christmas, after they pulled together to help the home during the coronavirus pandemic.

This year has been a difficult year for everyone and a year where everyone has had to pull together. This was felt the most by Residents and staff at Hartford Court who received so much help from people in their local community, whether it be donations, volunteering or other methods.

To repay the community that helped them so much, Colleagues at the home came up with the idea to collect food, toiletries, sweets & treats to be donated to the local food bank for distribution to those in need.

Staff were amazing with their donations, donating much more than the home expected. On 27th November, Maureen Levy from Blyth Valley Volunteer Services went to the home to collect the items.

Maureen Levy from Blyth Valley Volunteer Services said: “I am amazed and overwhelmed with the volume of goods donated by Hartford Court, they will go a long way to help those in need.”

Hartford Court staff had donated enough to fill 9 boxes in total, with boxes including cereals, rice, pasta, noodles, tinned goods, biscuits, toiletries, advent calendars, selection boxes and sweets.

Hartford Court Home Manager, Janice Bell said: “I am so proud of all the staff giving back to the community that have supported us so much recently.”
