Daventry MP, Baroness Casey and Chief Executive of Care England Visit Pytchley Court Care Home FolloPytchley Court Care Home in Brixworth, Northamptonshire, welcomed Stuart Andrew, Member of Parliament for Daventry and Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Louise Casey, Baroness Casey of Blackstock and Martin Green OBE, Chief Executive of Care England for a special visit on 9 March, celebrating excellence in adult social care.
 
The visit followed the announcement that Sue Watson, Home Manager at Pytchley Court, has been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2026 New Year’s Honours List for services to adult social care. The honour recognises Sue’s exceptional leadership, dedication and impact across more than five decades working in nursing, social care and community development.
 
During the visit to the 38-bed care home, which provides nursing, residential dementia and nursing dementia care, Stuart Andrew, Baroness Casey and Martin Green OBE, Chief Executive of Care England toured Pytchley Court’s specialist facilities, including the hobby room, internet cafĂ©, tearoom, quiet room, dining areas, lounges and ensuite bedrooms. They also met with colleagues, residents and members of the local community, gaining insight into daily life at the home and learning more about the importance of personalised care, stimulating activities and meaningful relationships.
 
Among those present during the visit were Bernard Mawoyo, Managing Director of HC-One South Region and Anna Selby OBE, Executive Director for Quality at HC-One, alongside other colleagues.
 
Residents were delighted to meet Baroness Casey, with residents David Lunn and Sandra Collier sharing their experiences as ‘interview champions’ within the home where they input into decisions made regarding new employees at the home. They spoke about the important role residents play in internal decision-making processes at Pytchley Court and how they value the responsibility of helping shape the home’s community and culture.
 
Baroness Casey and her team were welcomed with a buffet prepared by the home, which they enjoyed during the visit. Resident Sandra Collier also presented the Baroness with a bouquet of flowers as a token of appreciation from the residents.
The visit highlighted Pytchley Court’s dedication to fostering a vibrant, welcoming environment where residents can thrive and remain connected to the wider community. Stuart Andrew said he was keen to showcase the home as an example of outstanding social care provision within his constituency.
