Dementia community event held at Priorslee House care homeHC-One’s Priorslee House care home, near Telford, recently held a community dementia event during Dementia Action Week'

A delightful afternoon tea was provided for attendees, with the sweet treats decorated in Forget me Nots by Priorslee’s Residents. 

Priorslee House’s Dementia Care Manager, Annette Banks, was also in attendance to provide specialist information and to hold small one-to-one sessions for anyone with questions they wanted to ask more discreetly.

Dementia is an umbrella term for a range of progressive conditions that affect the brain, and while it can affect a person at any age it is more common in people over the age of 65. According to Dementia UK it is estimated that over one million people in the UK will have a diagnosis of dementia by 2025, and almost all of us will know someone living with the condition.

Anita Horton, Home Manager of Priorislee House, said: “This was an important event and one we really enjoyed holding.”
