17th May marked milestone achievements at the
Beeches care home, in Greater Manchester, which offers residential care, as one Resident celebrated her 90th birthday, and another marking two decades at the care home.
Mavis (pictured left) celebrated her 90th birthday, where she enjoyed a visit from her niece and opened cards and presents together. She also received some lovely photos from her family, who live in Canada.
And even more celebrations were to be had on this very special day as fellow Resident Margaret marked 20 years living at the Beeches.
Margaret (pictured right) came to live at the Beeches on the 17th of May 2002 not long after the Beeches first opened; she was one of the home’s first Residents.
Home Manager Louise Clifford and Wellbeing Coordinator Sade Smith presented Margaret with some lovely pink roses, so mark the special day.
The Beeches Colleagues threw a party for Mavis and Margaret with fellow Residents, and they all enjoyed music by Elvis, Frank Sinatra and The Proclaimers.
Samantha Jones, who is Mavis’ favourite singing entertainer, performed hits from the 1950 and 60’s and everyone was up dancing.
Mavis commented, “Thank you for making my 90th birthday so special, I said I didn’t want a fuss, but I am glad you made a fuss. It’s has been a lovely few days and it’s been nice sharing my day with a special day for Margaret also.”
The party finished with a delicious buffet and selection of drinks.
To make the occasion more special following current guidelines Margaret’s husband, Barry was able to attend the party, which made the day even more special for them both.
Barry said, “Thank you for arranging such a good party for my Margaret you all look after her so well and have always looked after me.”
Margaret said, “I like it here the staff are lovely they have always looked after me I am so happy.”
Sade added. “Today was such a special day, celebrating, it has been nice for everyone at the home and really lifted spirits.”
