Burnley’s
Dove Court care home received lots of Christmas cards and letters from students from a high school in Spain, and one Resident was delighted to hear that she was born in the same town!
Pupils from Glaxia School in Riberia surprised Residents at the 120-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home with lots of Christmas cards and personalised letters.
Residents, including Maria Garcia and Vera Kennedy (both pictured), enjoyed reading the letters, with many other Residents saying how nice of a gesture it was. One Resident said, “How nice and it was really lovely of them.”
Maria was extremely pleased to read what kind words the students wrote, they told Residents all about their Christmas traditions, which Maria said she could relate to as she was born in the same town of Riberia!
Steph Tillotson, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “This is so nice and lovely for the Residents to read. We will be sending a thank you card back to thank the students.”
