Dovedale Court Care Home in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its new Dementia Café, now officially named “Forget-Me-Not” following a popular community vote.
The café has quickly become a highlight of the week for residents, staff, and visitors alike, offering a warm, welcoming environment filled with laughter, conversation, and engaging activities. Guests have enjoyed games of dominoes and tiddlywinks, as well as fun history and music quizzes, creating a lively atmosphere that encourages connection and memory stimulation.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the home’s dedicated administrator, Jody Sargent, whose organisation, planning, and hands-on support have been key to making the café a reality. The team is also grateful to Senior Home Manager Dawn Allen for facilitating games and activities, helping ensure that every session is both enjoyable and inclusive.
The Dementia Café takes place every Wednesday from 10.30am until 12pm, providing a safe and friendly space for people living with dementia, their families, and the local community to come together over hot drinks, tea, and delicious cakes. Spaces are limited, so visitors are required to book in advance.
