Dudley care home Residents enjoy first day of the new walking clubResidents at HC-One’s Himley Mill care home in Dudley enjoyed their first day of walking club this May, as restrictions eased and the weather changed for the better.

Whilst talking to Residents about the new weather and restrictions easing, meaning Residents can now leave the home, Himley Mill Colleagues and Residents decided to make a new walking club, to ensure Residents could frequently get out the house.

On 5th May, Residents from the Willows Community in the home enjoyed their first trip out. Colleagues made sure Residents were wrapped up warm, safe and that they were enjoying their time out the home.

Residents enjoyed going outside the home, looking at the horses down the road and just watching people go about their daily lives.

Joan Jeavons, a Resident at Himley Mill said: “I enjoyed waving and saying hello to the postman over the road!”

Residents throughout the home heard of how great the first day of walking club was and cannot wait to get involved themselves.

Located in the neighbourly village of Himley, just outside Wolverhampton, Himley Mill is a friendly care home with 86 beds, that offers nursing and nursing dementia care, as well as care for young people with physical disabilities.
