Today at residential memory care home, Yew Trees, Residents and colleagues have been transplanting sunflowers into homemade pots which they made out of snack pots.
Residents are now on the nineteenth pot, which have been placed around the garden.
Everyone liked knowing that they had grown the flowers from seeds. One Resident said, “I am glad we didn’t have to do it outside and could plant the seedlings indoors.”
Another Resident added, “They will look better when they go in bigger pots.”
Lynda Bulley, Wellbeing Coordinator who organised the activity, commented, “This was a lovely activity and Residents are keeping a watchful eye on the sunflowers growing.”
