Residents have been taking part in a pancake-flipping competition at HC-One’s Riverside View care home in Dundee, Tayside.
Everyone had a go to see who could flip the best pancake. They cheered each other on as Residents carried out incredible successful flips but there was plenty of laughter as well when the pancakes fell flat.
One Resident commented: “I really enjoyed my turn but was scared I would make my pancake hit the ceiling!”
After a few pancakes on the floor, Residents were able to eat their own pancake after flipping it with a cup of tea in the afternoon.
A Resident said: ““Although we have to distance, it’s still great to get together and laugh. It was good to see how high some people could flip their pancakes.”
Residents all enjoyed a fun afternoon and loved watching the competition almost as much as they loved eating their pancakes. The activity was time-staggered so that the Residents from each unit could take part while they followed social distancing guidelines.
Riverside View Home Manager, Lynsey Robbie, commented: “The Residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The laughter they had while flipping the pancakes could be heard throughout the home.”
