Residents at HC-One’s
The Hornchurch care home in Essex recently celebrated St Georges Day with a day full of activity.
The Hornchurch wellbeing team decorated the home with various St Georges Day decorations to celebrate the day. The team completed a range of one to one activity with each Resident such as colouring and knitting. As well as activities, the kitchen staff provided Residents with a choice of traditional English meals such as bangers and mash, pie and mash and fish and chips as well as bread and butter pudding for dessert.
On the home’s dementia unit, staff completed a group activity in the lounge with Residents who were present involving traditional English songs, as well as sensory items being offered. This activity helped to increase Residents’ social interactions with one and other and really improved their mood.
“I am really pleased with all staff who participated in the St Georges day celebrations. Both Residents and reactivities really liked all decorations which were put on display both outside and inside the home.”
Situated in a peaceful residential area of Hornchurch, The Hornchurch is a friendly care home with 55 beds, offering nursing, residential, residential dementia and nursing dementia care.
