A care home in Chelmsford is inviting the local community, prospective residents and their families to celebrate the opening of a brand-new residential dementia community with a special Open Day event.
Admirals Reach Care Home, based in Chelmsford, Essex, will open its doors on Monday 2nd March 2026, from 10am to 12pm, to mark the launch of its new 30-bedded residential dementia community, named Drake, following the home’s nautical theme inspired by famous Admirals.
The Open Day will give visitors the opportunity to explore the home’s exceptional facilities, meet the dedicated care team and learn more about what makes Admirals Reach a standout choice for care in Essex. A complimentary buffet lunch will also be provided for guests attending the event.
Admirals Reach is a 158-bedded residential, nursing, residential dementia and nursing dementia care home, combining state-of-the-art facilities with excellence in personalised care to ensure residents enjoy the best possible quality of life. The home has been thoughtfully designed to promote independence, comfort and dignity, with residents’ wellbeing and happiness at the heart of everything it does.
As part of a wider refurbishment programme, the Drake community has been newly refurbished and decorated, offering a modern, enhanced living environment with excellent indoor and outdoor spaces. The new community will provide specialist residential dementia care, with residents benefiting from the home’s comprehensive wellbeing programme, access to a minibus for outings and excursions and a bookable private dining service for special occasions with loved ones.
The refurbishment of Admirals Reach was led by Dessy Spencer, Senior Interior Designer, who worked closely with residents and relatives to gather feedback, ideas and inspiration. Colour schemes and fabrics were carefully chosen to create a warm, welcoming environment, incorporating personal touches to ensure the home truly feels like a home from home.
Visitors attending the Open Day will also have the opportunity to speak with Amy Pepper, Dementia Care Manager, who will be on hand to explain the home’s dementia-friendly design features and approach to personalised dementia care.
