First ride out for Bishop Auckland care home ResidentsResidents from HC-One’s Eden House care home in Bishop Auckland enjoyed their first drive out since COVID-19 restrictions have eased in the home’s minibus.

It was an exciting day for Residents at Eden House as they embarked on their first drive in the countryside since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The group of ladies admired the scenery and wildlife as they drove through Staindrop and past Raby Castle before heading towards Barnard Castle and looking at the castle ruins from the minibus.

Everyone enjoyed a COVID-19 safe pit stop for some snacks and refreshments that the team had prepared prior to leaving Eden House. Afterwards, the group headed back to the care home, with Residents commenting on how much they enjoyed having a drive and looking at the wonderful views from the minivan.

Eden House Home Manager, Emma Wade said: “Whilst it will be lovely when we are able to have proper day trips once again, for now it is just so exciting that our Residents can get outdoors and have some fresh air again.”

Located on Cockton Hill Road, Eden House care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care and residential memory care for those living with dementia.
