Getting creative at County Durham care homeOne Resident at Grampian Court, residential and residential memory care home, in Peterlee has been getting creative.

Resident Irene has been working hard to write a short story. She was really keens to get creative and write her own story.

One-to-one sessions were set up with Irene throughout the month so she could bring her ideas to life. She dictated the story and it was all about the adventures of a character called Elizabeth.

Judith, Wellbeing Coordinator, typed up the story and has ask for it to be edited and made into a book. 

Judith, commented, “Myself and Irene had a good giggle throughout the whole process, and I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Irene, added, “I loved writing the story with the help from Judith. It was fun and we had such a laugh!”

Care Home Manager, Emma Hume, said, “I have watch Judith sit with Irene several times working on the story. I love the outcome!”
