HC-One Scotland’s Darnley Court Care Home, in Glasgow, transformed into a delightful celebration on International Tea Day on May 21, 2025.
Darnley Court residents were brought together for a day filled with unique flavours, engaging conversations, and nostalgic entertainment. The wellbeing team, led by Karen Wallace, Laura McCormack, and Stephanie McLemon, rolled out a vibrant tea trolley brimming with exotic blends like Spiced Ginger, Strawberry and Raspberry, Turmeric, Green Tea, and Pure Camomile.
This led residents across the communities to explore new tastes. The tea-tasting experience was a resounding success, sparking lively discussions as residents shared stories of their favourite teas and discovered new ones.
The event fostered a warm sense of community, with every sip igniting memories and laughter. Later in the day, residents gathered in the Specialist Dementia Care Community’s (SDCC) Cinema Room for a special screening of the timeless classic The Jungle Book.
Accompanied by popcorn, bags of sweets, and a variety of refreshing beverages, Darnley Court residents relished the nostalgic magic of the film, making it a perfect finale to a day of connection and joy. Darnley Court’s International Tea Day celebration showcased the power of simple pleasures – tea, conversation, and cinema – to create lasting memories.
Laura McCormack, HC-One Scotland’s Darnley Court Wellbeing Practitioner, stated:
“It was a truly special occasion, bringing our residents together to share stories, laughter, and new experiences over a cup of tea.
“From exploring exotic blends to enjoying a nostalgic film, the day was a beautiful reminder of how simple moments can spark joy and strengthen our community.”
