The Orchards in Shard End, which provides nursing care, Colleagues and Residents were delighted to hear they had won a green fingers award.
The Gardening Competition 2021 had multiple award categories, one of them being the Green Fingers award. It was awarded to Margaret Sarjent, a Resident at The Orchards. It was presented to Maragret by Connie, one of the Wellbeing Coordinators in the care home, and Ian, the Maintenance Operative who runs the weekly gardening club.
Margaret had grown a marrow in the club, which would not look out of place in a village fairs largest vegetable competition. She was over the moon to receive her award and all Colleagues and Residents were there to congratulate her for it.
Margaret went on to say, “I’m so happy to win this, the garden looks stunning”.
Simon, the Home Manager said, “Our Residents love the weekly gardening club ran by Iain our maintenance operative. Well done Margaret and thank you Iain”.
