Greenways Court enjoy Chinese New Year feast

Residents at Greenways Court in Consett joined together for a traditional feast as they celebrated Chinese New Year.

The feast, which was organised by kitchen staff at the home, included prawn crackers and spring rolls for starters, and a choice of sweet and sour chicken, beef in oyster sauce, or vegetable stir-fry for main course.

This was then followed by a refreshing dessert, including fresh fruit salad, banana fritters and ice cream.

Betty Watford, a Resident at Greenways Court, said: “I had a great evening. Thank you to all the staff involved for making it such a special night.”

Tina Ayton, Home Manager, said: “Chinese New Year was thoroughly enjoyed by all of our Residents. We received many comments on how tasty the food was, with some trying Chinese cuisine for the first time.”
