The Denby residential care home, in Huddersfield, has been getting prepared for Halloween and decorating the home in lots of festive fun! Residents have been making pumpkins and getting the home all ‘not so spooky’ with plenty of fun decorations.
Also this month, as it was two of the Residents birthdays today, Resident Betty asked if they could bake some cakes and buns.
Birthday girls Betty Walking and May Barnes said they loved to bake prior to the care home and thoroughly enjoyed doing it at the Denby. Betty used to make apple pie, which was known to be delicious! She said, “We both used to be keen bakers.”
Hannah Carrington, Care Home Manager, commented, “We always try and accommodate whenever our Resident wishes to do a new activity and it was so lovely that the ladies could bake again for their birthday.”
