Harvest Festival celebrations for The HarefieldToday at The Harefield in Uxbridge, which offers nursing and nursing dementia care, Residents kept their strong ties with their local church and celebrated the Harvest Festival.

The Harefield has always been committed to keeping their ties with the local community strong, and this continued with this years Harvest Festival. Irene, a Resident at the care home was taken down to their local St. Mary’s church where she enjoyed a two-course dinner to celebrate on the evening of the first Friday in October.

Irene ate a delicious quiche and garden salad for the main course and had a scrumptious apple pie with custard for pudding. She was able to sit and chat with some of the main churchgoers after the meal and enjoyed taking part in the quiz and raffle. The name for the quiz was of course named after Irene, and to top off the night, St. Mary’s had raised over £100 for charity!

Speaking to Irene after, she said, “I’ve had such a wonderful night, so many laughs and the food was fantastic!” she also commented on how it made a wonderful change to her usual routine.

Rebekah, the Deputy Manager said “It was a lovely way to engage with our local community, and to hear how much Irene enjoyed herself was lovely”.
