Ice cream party at Guisborough care homeResidents at Park House, care home in Guisborough, enjoyed a sweet treat at a recent ice cream party hosted at the residential and residential dementia care home.

A fun filled afternoon was had by many of the Residents as the home invited in a fantastic entertainer to sing for. Christine Rosemond brought her summer show to ark House care home, to brighten each of the Residents days.

After the entertainment, the ice cream party began.

Each Resident was given a bowl of their favourite flavour ice cream. Staff then went around to each Resident with a whole load of toppings, and sauces so each Resident could make their own ice cream sundae. Residents had a choice of sprinkles, chocolate chips, sauces, wafers, fresh fruit and many more toppings.

Once all the Residents had made their sundaes, they gave them name and they were judged on who’s looked the best.

Tom, form the memory care suite, won the competition, with the “Miners Mess”. The name came from when Tom worked down the pits. He decorated his ice cream with dark chocolate chips to look like pieces of coal.

It was a great afternoon and eating the ice cream was a highlight for all the Residents. One Resident, commented, “What an enjoyable afternoon!”

Julie Woods, Care Home Manager, remarked, “We all had a lovely afternoon, and the Residents really enjoyed the ice cream. They had lots of fun making their sundaes.”
