Resident and team members at HC-One’s Highgate care home in Uddingston, Glasgow enjoyed some fun-filled 4th July celebrations in honour of their friends across the pond.
Independence Day is a US federal holiday which commemorates the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. The team at Highgate decorated the home for the occasion and played traditional American rock n roll music, Residents enjoyed dancing and singing to their favourite songs.
Some Residents who have visited America also shared some stories and everyone discussed the differences between living in the US compared to Scotland.
Highgate Resident, Alicia Smith commented: “I used to stay in America, I would love to go back one day.”
Highgate General Manager, Charlene Curtis said: “I am so pleased that our Residents enjoyed their Independence Day party, the smiles on their faces said it all.”
