January flower arranging in Kent care homeAt Wombwell Hall care home, in Northfleet, the had some lovely flowers donated for the Residents to enjoy making floral arrangements and baskets. 

The wellbeing team was able to do a group activity and also spend some one to one time with Residents. 

Flower arranging was done across all of the communities within the home with around 7-8 Residents per community participating. 

One of the wellbeing team members commented, “This was brilliant for Residents as it had many benefits, such as encouraging them to reminiscence, touch sensory and smell sensory while also having fun and being creative and having something lovely to brighten up our Residents’ bedrooms”. 

“Our Residents then enjoyed afternoon tea with a selection of cakes and conversation where they reflected on their afternoon.”

Residents including Jean, Sylvia, Hannah, Patricia and Enid all thoroughly enjoyed the activity. 

Care Colleagues commented " What beautiful flowers and how meaningful of an activity this is."

Residents particularly liked being able to be creative independently while creating something beautiful for their bedrooms.

Beckie Condie, Home Manager, remarked, “This really is lovely, thought and effort was put into this and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!"

“Our Residents done some wonderful arrangements and to see them really enjoy themselves is very rewarding.”
