Jesmond care home Resident receives card from Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla asMargaret ‘Gill’ Kitchin, a Resident at Fleming Court, 69-bedded residential and residential dementia care home in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne, celebrated her 100th birthday.

On the 3rd of May 1923, in Yorkshire, Margaret Kitchin was born and is now celebrating her 100th birthday.

Gill started her career in the land army and married Harry and has a daughter called Hillary, and two sons called Andy and Peter. Gill has several grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loves dearly. In her spare time, Gill enjoys gardening, television game shows and reading.

When asked what her secret is to a long life, Gill said, “Getting outdoors!”

To celebrate her birthday Colleagues and Residents organised a party in the lounge. Both Residents and Colleagues sang her ‘Happy Birthday’ and enjoyed a delicious cake. Gill was thrilled to receive a 100th birthday card from Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. 

Karen Stewart, Care Home Manager, said, “Everyone at Fleming Court, wishes Gill a very happy birthday!”
