Kings Park Colleague marks 30 years at care homeFor HC-One’s Hurst Cross nursing memory care home, Kings Park, one Colleague has had a day full of surprises as fellow Colleagues and Residents got together to mark three decades working at the home.

Janice Hemmings started working at Kings Park on the 19th August 1991, she started as a Care Assistant for 5 years then got the position as the Home Administrator, where she has been ever since.

Being very dedicated to Kings Park, Janice has many happy memories and stories to tell, she has seen many faces and changes over the years. She is well loved by all staff, Relatives and Residents, who are always greeted with a warm smile.

All the staff did a surprise Hawaiian themed party, and Janice was greeted on a red carpet with champagne, strawberries and her very own butler for the day where she was waited on hand and foot!

The kitchen team did an amazing buffet and everyone had a sing-along with an outside entertainer. Janice was very spoilt with gifts, flowers and lovely messages.

Janice commented, “What an amazing day! I am very overwhelmed by the whole day which was full of entertainment and surprises.”

The Residents love the entertainer and enjoyed dancing, singing and eating the buffet. Len Whitehouse, who lives at Kings Park, loved his big sunglasses and enjoyed singing and watching the staff dance.

Lisa Joy, Home Manager, remarked, “A massive thank you to Janice for being my right-hand woman and for everything she does for us all, she is an amazing person.”
