Kingswood Resident relives ballet dancing dreamMargaret one of the Residents at Pennwood Lodge care home, in Wotton-under-Edge, relived her dream this October of being a ballet dancer when the home was visited by Alive activities.

On the afternoon of 5th October, Alive who are a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of older people and their carers, visited the residential, nursing and dementia care home. Margaret Bivon, who lives at the 45-bed home had mentioned to Nicola from Alive that she used to be a professional ballet dancer and had danced with politician, David Drew when she was younger.

Nicola has also done ballet dancing and offered to dance with Margaret some ballet steps. Margaret jumped at the chance and they both performed a little routine for fellow Residents and Colleagues (see pictured).

The home’s Wellbeing Coordinator said, “It was lovely to see Margaret dance with Nicola and the pleasure that showed on Margaret’s face was fab!”

Margaret really enjoyed reliving her past dream

Shelia, who is a fellow Resident at the home, remarked, “The dancing was wonderful!”

Deputy Manager of Pennwood Lodge Kirsty Hopton, commented, “It was beautiful to see Margaret dancing, so young at heart!”
