Ladies at Pennwood Lodge get pamperedSome of the ladies at Pennwood Lodge care home, in Kingswood, which offers residential, nursing and dementia care, decided they would like a bit of a pamper so Colleagues created a serene and peaceful environment for Residents to relax in.

Staff created a mixture of yogurt oats and orange oil as a mask for the face and then applied it for the ladies, finished with cucumber slices for the eyes.

Residents, including Pauline, Ruth and Sheila also enjoyed a foot soak, and a mix of lotion and peppermint oil massaged into their feet; all whilst relaxing to some classical music.

Ruth Lester, who lives at Pennwood Lodge, commented on how relaxed she felt afterwards.

The home’s chef prepared some delicious strawberries dipped in chocolate with marshmallows and some lovely home baked millionaires shortbread to accompany the afternoon. Then Residents could indulge in a glass of bucks fizz, all very much enjoyed by everyone!

Wellbeing Coordinator Julie, who organised he afternoon with Colleague Shan, commented, “It was nice to see the ladies laughing when the lotions were applied. They all said the treats were very tasty too!”

“It was a lovely afternoon doing something different and seeing the Residents and staff engaging well.
