Liverpool care home Resident enjoys 90th birthday celebrationsA very special Resident at HC-One’s Ferndale Mews care home in Widnes, Liverpool recently celebrated her 90th birthday, with lots of treats and surprises in store.

Ferndale Resident Joyce Brown celebrated her 90th birthday at Ferndale Mews on 26th January and was spoiled with many different types of surprises and presents.

In the morning of her birthday, Joyce had received a video call from her family singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her which she absolutely loved. She had a little chat with her family, who all sent their best wishes, before saying goodbye to enjoy the rest of her day with Residents at the home.

Colleagues at Ferndale went to great efforts to ensure Joyce could enjoy a socially distanced birthday party with other Residents in the home. Colleagues put on a lovely spread of food and poured plenty glasses of champagne.

Joyce, a Resident at Ferndale said: “It is lovely to see so many people celebrating my birthday, this is really special for me.”

“Thank you to all the staff for making my day so special.”

Residents all enjoyed singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Joyce as she opened her presents and there was a really lovely atmosphere around the home on her special day.

Peter McCarten, Home Manager at Ferndale said: “Joyce was overwhelmed with the effort put in by staff to celebrate her 90th birthday. The atmosphere was lovely to see with Residents all singing birthday wishes to her.”
