Local Devizes school sing Christmas carols to care home ResidentsPupils at St Barnabas school, came to Market Lavington residential, nursing and residential memory care home, in Wiltshire, on 15th December to sing songs for all the Residents!

Hosted by their teacher, Liz Orr, they sang many classic carols such as ‘Away in A Manger’, ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’, along with some other unique songs that they had learned for an upcoming school play! The songs they performed with lovely hand movements and mimes to illustrate the words of the song!

The Residents absolutely loved listening to them sing in a group in the home’s main lounge, with the French doors open, and the children and teachers were at a safe distance in our courtyard.

Residents on the first floor who were unable to make it downstairs, also had their windows open to hear the wonderful carols and it is fair to say, all spirits were lifted, and the children put everyone in a lovely Christmassy mood for the rest of the day!

Natasha Howard, Home Manager, commented “It was lovely to have the children back and we look forward to the future when we can hopefully.”
