Lots has been happening at Greenways Court care homeResidents at Greenways Court, residential and residential dementia care home, in County Durham, have had lots going on in April!

A new scheme which is running at Greenways Court, which Kinga, Home Manager has set up is Employee of the Month. Tracy Graham was the first winner of the award last month. Michelle Hester is April’s Employee of the Month!

Having this incentive for the staff is great, especially as staff feel proud of the work they are doing daily. Michelle was slightly overcome when receiving her award in front of all the staff- such a great achievement!

Maureen Urwin, a Resident said to Michelle, “You deserve this award you work very hard to keep us all so happy!”

Some Residents were very excited to be going on a trip to Seaham.

The sun was shining, and the bus set off for a day by the coast. Maureen Urwin, Catherine Kirkley, Jean Burrows, and Margaret Hart were delighted to be out on a day trip. The Residents were sat at Seaham Harbour looking over the water while enjoyed some fish and chips. The ladies enjoyed the day out, Catherine, said, “I was so lucky to be able to go to the beach today!”

Additionally, Greenways Court, celebrated Easter. They had an Easter bonnet competition which was lots of fun. Maureen Urwin won the bonnet competition, in second place was Sue Earlam and third place was Catherine Kirkley. Everyone who took part received a special treat and Maureen the winner got a KitKat Easter Egg.
