Sunday 20th February marked the annual ‘Love Your Pet Day’ and Residents at
Yew Trees care home, in Dukinfield, which offers residential dementia care, had three furry friends come to visit!
Busby the dog, Kevin the rabbit and Bonnie the in-house cat visited Residents at the home, and this went down a treat! Busby was taken for walks by Residents along the corridors and gave out lots of cuddles to Residents. Bonnie is at the ripe old age of 18 and mainly stays away from lots of people, but on this special day she made an appearance for Residents.
One of the Residents commented, “I love when the animals come in!”
The home also had the pet therapy animals out which always get lots of love. These include budgies and rabbits along with a guinea pig, dogs, and cats.
Lynda Bulley, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked “I love it when Busby comes in, as we get a lot of interaction!”
