Luton care home Residents enjoy a spot of gardeningResidents at HC-One’s Milliner House care home in Luton have made the most of the recent sunshine and spent the day in the garden, preparing for the summer months.

Now that the lovely weather is here, some of Milliners green fingered Residents have been out in the garden tending to the home’s beautiful flowers in preparation for a beautiful summer of fun.

Residents tended to some potted plants, cleaned up some fallen leaves, organised some flower arranging and helped trim some corner bushes.

Part of an attractive residential area on the outskirts of Luton, Milliner House is a friendly, purpose-built care home offering residential and residential memory care for those living with dementia.

Gardening helps keep elderly general health in a better state by strengthening bones, muscles and joints; it also helps the elderly with balance resulting in less falls; keeps blood pressure at bay; reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke; and of course, helps keep our minds in a positive state.

Colleagues are now working towards building and creating vegetable patches that are accesible to all Residents despite their care needs.
