Making cushions at Yew TreesResidents at Yew Trees residential memory care home, in Dukinfield, have been showing their creative sides by making cushions.

For a few days, Residents have been working with the wellbeing team by preparing items to make personal cushions with. One of the Residents requested a long cushion for her bed, to run down the wall. Others saw this and asked if they could do it too which turned into an activity.

Now all shapes and sizes have emerged, with a variety of lovely cushions personalised to each individual Resident; some with names others with patterns on them.

Everyone loved having something comfy that they have made themselves; it is a sense of achievement.

Lynda Bulley, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “It was nice to see them (the Residents) get really involved as they asked themselves to make them.”
