Manchester care home Resident enjoys 100th birthday celebrationsA very special Resident at HC-One’s Greatwood House in Denton, Manchester, achieved an amazing milestone this month, as she turned 100.

On March 16th, Resident Bet Bailey turned 100 years old and Colleagues were determined to, despite the Restrictions, make it her best one yet.

Bet had a lovely morning opening all her cards and presents whilst listening to her favourite songs by Frank Sinatra.  Then Bet had a virtual meeting with the Civic Mayor of Tameside, Janet Cooper who wished her a ‘Happy Birthday’.  Bet then had a buffet with all of her fellow Residents and Colleagues at the home, where she cut her cake and drank prosecco.

During the buffet and after the cutting of the cake, everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Bet which brought a tear to her eye. In the afternoon, Bet’s family enjoyed a window visit with her at her bedroom window where she shared all her lovely cards, including her one from the Queen.

Greatwood House care home Manager Odette Wilson said: “It’s such a shame we couldn’t celebrate her birthday with a party and a singer but we made sure she still had an amazing day."
