Manchester care home Resident enjoys a day of pampering

One Gentlemen was thrilled to have a relaxing afternoon of pampering today at HC-One’s Averill House care home in Newton Heath.

Mr Yeun Wong enjoyed the full works at Averill House’s on-site salon as he was treated to a head massage, haircut, eyebrow trim, deep nail clean and even had a splash of aftershave.

Mavis McDougal, a Resident at the home, commented: “What a makeover! He looks very smart and very handsome.”

Many Residents have missed their usual hairdresser coming in, particularly Yeun who said he was in desperate need of a quick spruce.

But he was very surprised when he ended up getting the full salon service after Jodie Yates, a Wellbeing Coordinator at the home, took it upon herself to learn the trade.

Jodie said: “Yeun was over the mood. He filled up with tears and just kept thanking me. Then he went and showed everybody his new smart look, he was so pleased.”
