Residents of HC-One Wales’s Meadowlands Care Home in Aberdare enjoyed a refreshing winter outing recently, venturing out into the crisp winter air for a scenic walk around Roath Park in Cardiff.
Accompanied by Sarah Clark, the home’s Wellbeing Coordinator, Anthony Jenkins, Maintenance Operative, and Christopher Lewis, Home Administrator, the residents embraced the cold with smiles and laughter. After taking in the beautiful winter scenery, the group decided to warm up and treat themselves to a well-deserved stop at McDonald’s before heading back home.
The journey back through the streets of Aberdare sparked fond memories for many of the residents, who enjoyed revisiting familiar places from their childhoods and sharing stories of their past adventures.
Sarah Clark, Wellbeing Coordinator at Meadowlands Care Home, said:
“The winter walk was a lovely opportunity for our residents to get outdoors, enjoy each other’s company, and reminisce about their earlier years. It’s these little moments of joy that make such a difference to their wellbeing.”
Meadowlands Care Home is committed to providing meaningful activities that promote physical health, emotional wellbeing, and a strong sense of community for all residents.
