Millbrook Residents on a trip through world famous Blackpool IlluminationsResidents at Millbrook care home in Stalybridge, Tameside, took a lovely trip to Blackpool to see the famous Christmas lights and sample some real seaside fish and chips.

The trip was organised by Home Manager Claire, and together with Colleagues Danielle and Debbie, as well as Alina Activity Coordinator, they all embarked in two minibuses with the lovely residents Barbara, Vicky, May, Hilda, Peter, Sheila, accompanied by her son Trevor, and Jackie with her daughter Annie.

Once everyone arrived in Blackpool it was decided to have fish and chips at the famous Harry Ramsden's. The dinner was lovely with many complements as the Residents spent their time reminiscing about the past and their last trips to Blackpool when they were young accompanied by their children.

After the meal the minibus drove through the illuminations where Residents were saying how good it is to be out seeing the illuminations and listening to Christmas songs.

The journey back coincided with the start of the football game (Wales vs. England), with Resident Vicky wishing to know any updates about the game. Luckily, England won the match, and everybody was happy as the minibus took us back home safe and ready for bedtime.

It was a fantastic evening had by all. Resident Barbara, said, “What an amazing evening away by the seaside riding through all the beautiful lights.”

Claire Jones, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was a lovely evening for all involved. The Residents, Colleagues and Relatives who joined us had a fantastic time.”
