Milton Keynes care home gather to bid farewell to Prince PhilipResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Highclere care home in Milton Keynes gathered together on 17th April to bid farewell to the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

On the day of Prince Philip’s funeral, Saturday April 17th, Highclere Residents and Colleagues gathered together to say a final farewell to the Duke of Edinburgh.

Residents enjoyed getting the decorations ready including a photo board of Prince Philip and flags hung around the home. There were many tears during the service and all staff and Residents adhered to the minutes silence to pay their respects.

After the service had finished, Residents toasted Prince Philip with a glass of sherry and a cream tea scone.

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was a member of the British royal family as the husband of Elizabeth II. During the Second World War he served with distinction in the British Mediterranean and Pacific fleets.

Philip died on the morning of 9 April 2021 at Windsor Castle, aged 99, two months before his 100th birthday. He was the longest-serving royal consort in British history.
