Movie madness at South Lanarkshire care homeResidents at Douglas View care home in Hamilton, were thrilled to go to the cinema and see the new Elvis movie.

As a surprise trip, some of the Residents went along to the Vue Cinema in Hamilton to watch the new Elvis movie which has recently hit the big screen.

Elvis Presley remains a firm favourite of some of the Residents, they listen to him a lot and love to have a boogie along to his music. It was a real treat to be able to go and see the new film.

The film outlines the story of his life and includes some of his greatest hits. The actors in the movie look exactly like Elvis and his wife Priscilla.

The Residents were singing along to the music, and some were even dancing in their seats to all of their favourite tunes. There was lots of crisps and sweet choice for the Residents to have throughout the film.

Resident John Robertson had a great day. He said, “We’ve had lots of Presidents and Prime Ministers but only one Elvis.”

Louise Fulton, Care Home Manager, remarked, “What a great time the Residents had! They said what an amazing film it was.”
