Residents at
Kirkwood Court, residential and residential dementia care home, in Kenton spent the 9th of February celebrating National Pizza Day.
Everyone was thrilled to get involved in National Pizza Day as Residents are keen to get involved in cooking.
The Residents started off rolling out the dough, then spreading on the tomato base. They chose the type of cheese they wanted and then toppings which included ham and onion.
All of the pizzas were decorated very well and the Residents really enjoyed the activity.
The Residents were even happier with how the pizzas turned out and said they tasted delicious.
Betty, one of the Residents, said, “It was really fun decorating the pizzas today, I would love to do it again soon.”
Terry, another Resident, commented, “I loved decorating a pizza today. It was great to cook again, I haven’t done it in a while.”
Angela Douglass, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was lovely seeing all the Residents getting involved in decorating a pizza, they smelt really good!”
