Neath care home team member delights with beautiful poem
Housekeeping Assistant, Mary Turvey has lifted the spirits of her Colleagues and Residents at HC-One’s Cwrt-Clwydi-Gwyn care home in Neath since it opened its doors over twenty years ago.

The team and Residents at Cwrt-Clwydi-Gwyn have affectionately appointed Mary as the home’s very own ‘poet laureate’, with Mary often creating poems for everyone to enjoy.

After a difficult year, Mary wanted to create a poem that would get everyone focussing on the positives, her poem is titled ‘It’s Not All Black and White’ and was first recited during a Zoom call with the fourteen fellow HC-One care homes located in Wales.

Mary’s poem received a round of applause during the Zoom call and everyone in the home commented on what a lovely poem Mary had created. The poem is now proudly displayed in the home for people to read and remind everyone to look at the positives in life.

Cwrt-Clwydi-Gwyn Home Manager, Lisa Llewellyn, said: “We all thoroughly enjoy listening to recitals of Mary’s beautiful poems, she really knows how to lift the spirits of our Residents.”
