To start the New Year off at Hyde’s the
Sycamores residential and residential memory care home, they hosted a spectacular New Year’s Eve party.
The evening consisted of party food, decorations, party props, a tipple and music, alongside some fantastic singing and dancing from the Residents and Colleagues.
As part of the night, Colleagues hosted a little quiz for the Residents to guess the artist playing. Natasha Travis, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “The Residents did very well at the quiz. Unlike me!”
The Residents enjoyed watching a New Year’s Eve film after the party to unwind.
Following the party was a January fun day. Natasha brought in a fun box for each floor in the home. Within these boxes were jigsaws, paints, puzzles, colouring, and clay model making.
Bill, who lives at the home, commented on the activities, “Oh, it’s been splendid!”
Natasha said, “We all worked as a team on the crosswords and puzzles, and we did it very well! Well done everyone!”
“Whilst we were doing this we were singing and tapping out feet to the music it was an afternoon filled with fun laughter.”
On 12th January, Resident Hilary celebrated her birthday. Colleagues organised a cake, pamper session, and everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her. Dean Martin (Hilary’s favourite singer) could also be heard playing in the background at the Sycamore salon where Hilary was having her nails done.
She joked, “It was the best day this year!”
Natasha ended with, “What a fantastic start to the year!”
