Northwich Ladies Day at the racesResidents at residential and nursing care home, in Cheshire, took part in a very special Ladies Day as they watched the racing today.

Ladies Day dates back to 1823, this was an opportunity for the woman to look like angels; sweetly divine. What a wonderful opportunity this was to create ‘Ladies Day’ at Daneside Court for the ladies to take part in. They even made their own fascinators for the occasion.

The Residents were delighted to get creative and choose flowers as they designed their own headpieces. Everyone was so eager to show them off to fellow Residents and care Colleagues too, see pictures.

Everyone then celebrated the afternoon by watching some horse racing. They popped open the Prosecco, which was accompanied with fresh strawberries and cream, the perfect creamy fluffy mousse with puree strawberries and whipped cream. Everyone said it tasted so good.

Making the fascinators and the afternoon event watching the horse racing with the refreshments was the highlight of the day. One Resident, said, “Brilliant! Another wonderful afternoon!”

Home Manager, Samantha Farahat, remarked, “Great to see all the lovely creations, I think the Residents became quite competitive with each other as to who had the best fascinator.”

“Seeing the smiles was just wonderful, and the twinkle in their eyes of enjoying the event. It made everyone feel special.”
