Nottingham care home celebrates four wonderful years as ‘one big family’HC-One’s Rivendell View Care Home, in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, marked its four-year anniversary with a vibrant celebration that brought together residents, colleagues, family, and friends as ‘one big family’ on Wednesday, July 16.

The party commemorated four successful years of exceptional care and community spirit. HC-One's Rivendell View Care Home, a luxury 66-bed purpose-built care home nestled on the outskirts of Nottingham near Victoria Retail Park, is known for its welcoming atmosphere and impressive facilities.

Residents enjoy ensuite bedrooms with TVs, a cinema room, and plenty of communal spaces designed for comfort and connection. The home was beautifully decorated with bright balloons and cheerful "Happy Birthday" banners, setting a festive mood throughout.

The celebration featured live entertainment by popular local singer Steve Barclay, who has delighted residents on previous visits. His performance on the ground floor had everyone clapping, singing along and even dancing.

While there are no original residents from the opening, Rita Hubbard and Rita Brookes have been with Rivendell View for over three years, becoming beloved members of the family. The party also provided a moment to honour Janet Owens, the home’s domestic assistant who has been with Rivendell since day one.

Elizabeth Houston, HC-One’s Rivendell View Care Home Deputy Manager, stated:
"It’s a great environment to work in – everyone mucks in, and it's so rewarding supporting our residents. It took me many years to realise where my calling was, which is definitely here at Rivendell View."

Rita Brookes, HC-One’s Rivendell View Care Home resident, warmly expressed:
"It’s all good news here. It’s a lovely place to be with lovely people. We’re lucky to get regular entertainment and they do a first-class job. I always enjoy the parties. My favourite things about living here are being safe, looked after, and having made good friends. I really can’t fault it."

Janet Watchhorn, HC-One’s Rivendell View Care Home resident, added:
"I’m settled here – everybody is nice and it’s a comfortable home. The party today has been great, with everyone joining in. I enjoy having my family visit regularly."

Betty Guinness, 106, HC-One’s Rivendell View Care Home resident, reflected:
"Everyone is friendly and happy. There are no separate groups, we are one big family."
