October activities at Springwater LodgeThis month at Springwater Lodge in Nottingham which offers residential, nursing care and residential dementia care, Residents have had a range of different activities to take part in.

On the 17th of this month four Residents had a day trip out to another HC-One home, Fosse Way View. Here, there was an outside performance by a magician, followed by a drink at the Fosse Way View bar. Residents expressed how much they enjoyed this day trip with one saying, “What a fantastic day out, can we stay the night”. The magician made animal balloons for the Residents, which they took home with them, and also performed a variety of tricks. Another Resident said, “I have absolutely no idea how he is doing this, it must be magic!”.

Later in the week, Residents had got involved with preparing some decorations for Halloween. Wellbeing staff had brought in pumpkins which were all cut out with spooky faces and covered in glitter. One Resident had commented on how different it was to put glitter on them “It was nice to try something new with the pumpkins, it was very messy though!”.

October also saw the introduction of a new hairdresser into the home. Leigh Jonson started working at Springwater Lodge on the 22nd and has been well received by the Residents. A day of pampering is always high on the list of enjoyable activities each month, and this month was no exception. Margaret, Jean and Lore all had their hair done whilst their nails also saw some attention. One Colleague commented that “everybody looked ready to go out dancing!” and Jean said “I feel like a new women, my husband might not recognise me”.
Mihaela, the Home Manager said “Its been a good month here at Springwater Lodge, I’ve liked seeing the Residents enjoying themselves so much”.
