Overdene House celebrates Halloween and Bonfire NightHalloween and Bonfire Night are at Overdene House residential and nursing care home, in Winsford, and everyone at the home wanted to get involved!

Residents did some careful pumpkin designing and carving which brought back lots of memories and these were discussed over a nice warm hot chocolate and some marshmallows

Two ladies, Joyce and Philomena, were confectioners so the scraping and cleaning was a real memory boost and they did a great job!

Everyone agreed it was great to get to know people and to see them smile over good memories and they loved spending time getting creative!

Residents celebrated Bonfire Night on Friday 5th November, where they had the opportunity to create 'edible bonfires' out of digestive biscuits, chocolate fingers and sweets.

After tea, Residents watched a sparkler show and relaxed in the lounge watching the classic film ‘My Fair Lady’ whilst drinking hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.

One of the Residents commented, “Ah, that's really lovely!”

The wellbeing team added, “Being able to celebrate bonfire night in a way that makes our Residents smile is amazing and is such a privilege.”
