The spirit of music and joy lit up
HC-One’s Perry Locks Care Home in Perry Barr, Birmingham, West Midlands, as residents took part in an exciting African drumming workshop led by Rico from Fitness Wellbeing in Care.
Rico arrived with a vibrant collection of African drums and percussion instruments, introducing each resident to the rhythm and feel of the drums. After some one-on-one practice, Rico brought everyone together to form a musical ensemble, encouraging teamwork and creative expression.
The residents rose to the challenge, creating unique, energetic beats and singing along to much-loved Reggae tunes.
Patience Cole, HC-One’s Perry Locks Care Home’s General Manager said:
“Who knew Perry Locks was home to such talented drummers? The energy was electric, and the smiles on everyone’s faces said it all.”
Rico kept things lively by increasing the tempo throughout the session, giving residents a fun and stimulating workout. It was a session filled with music, laughter, and community spirit, exactly the kind of meaningful activity Perry Locks is proud to offer.
