Peterborough care home celebrate World Health DayThis month at The Gables care home in Whittlesey, which provides nursing and nursing dementia care, Colleagues and Residents have been discussing and celebrating World Health Day.
 
Residents and Colleagues have been having a lot of fun today by celebrating World Health Day with a range of different chair and floor exercises which were based on sports. There was a nice selection of different healthy snacks to go along with the exercising which were well received by everybody.
 
Residents also discussed “What makes us happy” during the day prompting some wonderful conversations. Mick, one of the Residents at The Gables went on to say, “Planning my trip to Australia makes me happy” and another Resident Bill, Resident said that fishing makes him happy. Andrew, another Resident also commented on how spending days out with his family brings him the most happiness.
 
Many of the Residents expressed how they enjoyed the sporting theme and the healthy snacks, with most saying they really liked the reflection conversations between them all.
 
Vicky, the Home Manager went on to say, “it has been a lovely day full of healthy snacks and exercises, the Residents really enjoyed it all”.
